Unpacking the “Library”: Exploring Works in Progress in the Field of LIS is being held at the Iowa City Public Library on March 25, 2011, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Panel sessions are in Meeting Room A, and poster sessions are in Room B. These rooms are located on the first floor, near the Linn Street entrance.
Downtown Iowa City has several parking garages to accommodate commuters. According to the “Meters, Facilities, and Programs” page of the City of Iowa City website, parking in a city ramp for the day should cost less than $10. Street parking is difficult to come by in downtown Iowa City and is not recommended.
Conference organizers are providing coffee and light breakfast fare in the morning, beverages and snacks in the afternoon, and are subsidizing lunch from The Wedge for the first fifty attendees.
Post-Conference Dinner & Drinks
Tables at The Mill restaurant have been reserved for post-conference dinner and drinks at 6 p.m. Jazz After Five, a regular Mill program featuring the UI School of Music’s Brent Sandy, will be entertaining until 7:30 p.m. View The Mill’s menu online to plan for personal dinner expenses.
Business casual is recommended but not required. Dressing in layers is recommended for any conference as personal comfort preferences may vary.
